Pantone’s 2016 Colors of the Year Are Perfect for Weddings

Every year, Pantone, the company of color, selects a color of the year—a snapshot of the attitudes and moods of common culture for that year. Often, that color then begins to pop up and dominate in places throughout the culture. You will see this especially happen in weddings, where people select signature colors that are both trendy and beautiful for establishing a theme.

For the first time ever, Pantone decided to choose two colors for 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity. “Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer, embracing rose tone and the cooler, tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Both colors happen to be fabulous for the modern wedding—and all of the words used to describe the colors sound perfect for both a big day to remember, as well as the launching pad for a great marriage: warm and embracing balanced with a cool and tranquil; soothing, order, and peace.

When you visit the Order page for the tissue paper, you have the opportunity to do an exact color match by entering the RGB values of a color you have selected. We found the RGB values for the Colors of the Year on Pantone’s website. You choose two colors, as well as the background color for your design. The above preview shows Serenity as a background color, and Rose Quartz as Accent Color 2. (Accent Color 1 is White.) Then you can preview your design to see how it will look before ordering.
